Born and bred in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Kenneth did not start out in film production. Starting with stints in a brokerage firm, French deli and bar tendering, he also appeared in front of the

camera for TV commercials.

A newspaper clipping and an interview with one of the biggest production houses back then, Barney Productions, landed him a position as a Trainee Production Manager in 1995.

There he learned about marketing local and foreign film directors, calculating budgets, production costs and doing quotations while gaining production experience. Deciding to further his knowledge in film production, he joined Regional Films, a sister company of Barney Productions, eventually becoming a Line Producer.

Later on, in 1997, he joined Pegasus Film as an Associate Executive Producer, staying with the company for 6 years with the position of Executive Producer. After Pegasus, he became a freelance 1st Assistant Director, specialising in foreign support. From then on, Kenneth has progressed to directing TV Commercials and Corporate Videos.

Having filmed in various countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Australia, South Korea and South Africa, Kenneth has worked with prominent commercial film directors such as Ariane Besson, Charles Mehling, Abinhey Deo and feature film directors such as Dain Said (Bunohan, Interchange) and John Hilcoat (Lawless, Triple 9).

He has also had the opportunity to film with Cinematographers such as Trent Opaloch (District 9, Chappie, Captain America Winter Soldier), Ben Smithard (Damn United) and Simon Duggan (I, Robot, Warcraft) and Oscar winner Robert Elswit (There Will Be Blood, Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, The Bourne Legacy).

Getting involved with international support projects has also allowed Kenneth to rub shoulders with celebrities such as Hrithik Roshan, Shilpa Shetty, Anggun, David Foster, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Caroline Wosniaki, among others.

In 2011, he was the 1st AD for Dain Said’s Bunohan (Return To Murder), a feature film that won numerous international and local awards. Currently directing, producing, editing and doing the occasional 1st AD project, Kenneth is still game for any challenging projects that might pop up.
